Mimosa bar bridal shower!

My friend Ashley and I (along with the help of my amazing mother) held a bridal shower for our dear friend, Katie! It's weird to say "Katie", because we actually call her "Zo". It's a strange nickname, but it makes sense once you hear that she's from AriZOna. ;) My apologies in advance if I call her Zo throughout this post!

I'm a bit late on this, seeing as the shower was almost 3 months ago! Dangit. Buuuut, I still wanted to show you everything we put together! Because it was so.much.fun.

Zo didn't give us too much guidance as far as what she wanted at the shower, except for a mimosa bar! But, she's easy going and loves everything, so I figured we couldn't go wrong.

First of all, I knew I wanted to make a banner. This was SO quick, easy & affordable! My mom was sweet enough to let me use this banner packet she already had, and I used stencils to paint "Ms to Mrs" on the pieces. I thought attaching them to a string with clothespins would be sweet and something a little different. I love how it turned out!

As a surprise to Zo, I filmed Matt (her fiance) answering questions about their relationship, funny habits, likes/dislikes, etc... & hooked up our Chromecast to a TV so the whole party could watch! The idea of this "game" is to see if Zo could answer the same way Matt did! If she got a question wrong (or answered differently than Matt did), we gave her a piece of gum. She only ended up with a few pieces! ;) So cute, and definitely a bride/crowd pleaser. We also put the gifts, games & pens under the TV on this stand that my parents let us use.

We were expecting 50 guests! So we had to call in reinforcements for chair purposes. ;) This is how the room ended up. It worked out perfectly!

For some simple decoration, I purchased these letters at Michael's for less than $2 a piece, glued layers of burlap and a lace trim around the edge, and added these tiny flowers to the "K". So easy and  so sweet!

For an activity for the guests and something for Zo to take home, I asked everyone to fill out a "recipe" of advice for marriage on these little notecards. :) To save some money, I just wrote that out on a piece of printer paper with a Sharpie and cut it to fit a photo frame I already had.

Ahhhh, the MIMOSA BAR! The best part. :)

So, way back in 2006 for my high school graduation party, my parents had set up a mimosa bar for the "of age" guests, and they bought hundreds of these awesome plastic champagne glasses... These were all leftover from then! We only had 3 leftover. What the heck?! Couldn't have worked out much better. I used an assortment of pitchers for orange juice, cranberry juice and strawberry lemonade (the frozen kind - so cheap and still so delicious!) I think we refilled each juice pitcher 3 or 4 times. We cut up some strawberries and blueberries for those who wanted to add some fruit to their mimosa! Who wouldn't?! ;) Ashley had this super awesome tin tub that we filled with ice for the champagne, and with a little arranging - voila! We have one colorful mimosa bar!

Now, I stole this idea from my mom. At the open house for her art studio, she created a decorate-your-own-donut bar, and I thought it was the cutest. So I did that here as well! We bought an assortment of donut holes from Krispy Kreme and displayed them on this adorable stand. For decorations, we put frosting in this pails (purchased at Target for $1 each!) and sprinkles in these adorable dishes of my mom's. This was definitelyyyyy a big hit for those with a sweet tooth!

Ashley, Zo and I! Plus, my parents' dog, Gabby. She thought everyone was there for her! She had to include herself in the photo. :)

The beautiful bride-to-be and myself!

They're getting married THIS Saturday, I can hardly believe this came so quickly! I am so incredibly happy for the two of them, and I just loved hosting this shower for Zo. She is the sweetest person I know and she deserves the best of everything!

Hope you enjoyed this quite long post.

Talk to you soon!

- Kace
