Well, most of you who are reading this already know our exciting news... Buuut, in case you don't, here it is: we're PREGNANT!!! :)
That has always struck me as an interesting phrase - "WE are pregnant"... Technically speaking, I am the pregnant one. I am the one growing a tiny human inside me. I am the one whose belly is growing day-by-day, the one who's craving pickles, lemon heads and V8 juice every-dang-day, the one who is already slightly frightened by the idea of labor. However, my sweet, sweet husband, Drew, is pregnant in his own way. (And I don't mean that he's also put on baby weight...) He is forced to take over some of my not-so-glamorous responsibilities, and just do more work around the house in general. Examples: cleaning the litter box, painting the nursery without my help, etc. So, the mister deserves a pat on the back. He deserves to be treated as if he is also pregnant every once in a while. ;)
Did I mention how thankful I am to have him as my husband? This process has already made my love for him grow even bigger than I could have imagined. I am giddy just thinking about him as a dad to our little one.
Enough mushy gushy stuff. (Ok, maybe not...)
We are truly just SO excited! Drew and I have been talking about growing our family since, well, before we were even married. I have been praying that I'd become a mother since I was a little girl. So, needless to say, this baby is going to be born into a family that loves her more than we can explain.
Oh! Did I spill the beans?! It's a GIRL!!!
Drew and I both had a gut feeling from our first doctor's appointment that we were having a girl. And we were right! Seeing Drew with a baby girl is going to melt my heart over and over again. I am so looking forward to it. In case you're wondering, we do have a few names we like already... ;)
I thought I would include by 14-week and 16-week chalkboard "bumpdates" in this post. I meant to write my first pregnancy post over a month ago, and I'm just now getting around to it. Do I dare blame that on pregnancy brain? I sure do. It's a real thing, you guys.
